This is my first time making a subclass, and I am about to lose all my cool. Repeatedly, I have saved and backed out of this subclass after tweaking one little thing or another, yet i always get this same response:
This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
To this is call b.s., as Vigilante is meant to be a Fighter subclass, and thus I checked if I had a martial archetype feature at 3rd, 7th, 10th, 15th, and 18th levels, and I have something there for every one of those. Can someone please help me? I really want to publish this subclass, I think it could make for a very fun character for more than just myself.
Though I will also ask for any questions or comments, I am always willing to listen to some constructive criticism.
Non mods can't use the link, but double check all the modifiers, text blocks and ensure that each of the created features are set to the correct levels then after that try resaving the entire homebrew, I'm not sure what's been going on with the homebrew creator but it has been taking a bit for it to update, so that could also be an issue.
There is currently a bug that requires Fighter subclasses to have a 5th level feature for some reason.
But you should avoid publishing for a while. If you just finished it, then it probably has not seen the playtesting and editing that it inevitably needs. Once you publish you can no longer edit it. To accomplish the thing you need to jump through hoops and it has unintended side effects. If you playtest and edit it for a few months to make sure everything is balanced and all the kinks are worked out, by the time that’s done the bug should have been fixed.
I agree with IamSposta about playtesting and editing for a little while to make sure all the bugs work out.
If you're just wanting to get rid of the error message, create a 5th level class feature. Make the title .. (2 periods), the description . (1 period), Hide in character builder, hide in character sheet, and set display order to like 9. This will make an empty class feature, hopefully hidden (I think hide in character builder doesn't work), and get you around this bug for the time being.
I will be using this subclass in a new campaign I'm starting soon, and we have a fighter in our current campaign who is using is, so I'll wait until we use the class a bit to make sure it doesn't need any editing or anything first, thanks for the tips! I will add a 5th level feature real quick as well just so I can publish when we do decide its finished and ready.
Playtest and editing will take at least a few months. The level 5 bug should be resolved long before then.
Doubtful. The same bug for the druid class has existed since the last homebrew revamp in... 2018? I wouldn't count on a change until the next one comes around, which has been stuck in "longer term" purgatory. Also, while playtesting is always a good idea, it is helpful to publish even before you're 100% sure your build is air-tight, as doing so makes it easy to share homebrews. I've revised some of my homebrews about a dozen times without any issue, and one or two I've deliberately published in "beta".

The Druid thing isn’t a bug, it’s something else. There is some reason for it in the programming, the Mods have acknowledged it but they have explained it is not a bug exactly. This level 5 for Fighters is brand new and the Mods have marked it as a bug.

Oh, I wasn't aware. Thanks. Maybe it has something to do with the upcoming class feature UA.

I hope that is helpful.
