Head scratcher incoming. So, I've created an ability, which I had to set as a sort of "temporary" FEAT that my player adds and removes when he meets the criteria to activate it.
He's a Bear Barb, and he gets Unarmored Defense, which is the ability which allows him to add his CON modifier to his unarmored defense and dex.
Okay...
All I want the character sheet to do is reflect that when this Feat is on, his AC should be set to 18...basic plate. I have tried every permutation imaginable of "Set AC" or "Ignore" property I can think of but NOTHING works. I have every other element of the Feat working properly except this one and it's driving me crazy. As it stands, we can just override his AC when the Feat is on through the "customize" option, but it's an issue I HAVE to believe there is an answer to.
I know lots of folks have had run-ins with this particular set of commands, so I'm hoping the hivemind has an answer for me.
After you save the modifiers, you need to re-save the whole Feat again. Then be patient, it may take some time for the changes to push to the character sheet.
Edit: That seems not to work. That modifier might not actually work on feats. Why don’t you just use Actual Plate?
I am confused as to why you need a feat, unless this is a homebrew class?
The way the AC value works right now is it just shows the highest possible value given what you are wearing and what features you have. It ignores the armor requirement for Unarmored Defense.
I made a test character with Dex 16, Con 14 and the heavily armored feat. Level 1 Barbarian.
With no armor active: AC 15 (unarmored defense) With leather armor: AC 15 (unarmored defense - an error) With half plate: AC 17 (half plate) With full plate: AC 18 (full plate)
Unless you are trying to solve the case where they are wearing armor that would decrease their AC, a feat shouldn't be needed.
The Feat itself doesn't *just* alter the pc's armor class.
It's a suite of changes to the PC's HP/Movement/Immunities based on a transformation they undergo after having managed to maintain rage for a set number of rounds.
So, there are multiple traits that it touches...all of which work, except for this change to AC. I made it a Feat because that way it could be added/removed at will, by the player, when the criteria are met. A homebrew Feat was the only way I could figure out to add all of the base modifications as well as multi-attack, so I went with that.
I would like to just have it reflect that his AC changes from 15 to 18 (full plate) for this change, but the "SET AC (FIXED VALUE =18)" string does not work. I ASSUME that's because unarmored defense is hardcoded for barbs in the same way lizardfolk have 3 base (natural) AC. So, I've tried as many permutations as I can think of with having it ignore the AC DEX BONUS/UNARMORED BONUS etc. and no matter WHAT I do, I cannot alter his AC. I mean, it's not a *huge* deal -- he can just customize to override and enter 18 every time he shifts -- but it's just bugging the crap out of me that it's the ONLY thing I cannot make work, and I don't know if it's just my incompetence or a limitation rooted in the barb's core unarmored trait or what.

Yep. I had already tried this. And I also waited about six hours afterward, as I've noticed that - for some reason - certain modifiers with homebrew items take time to be reflected while others seem to appear immediately.
