Eggo Lass bursts into the room and goes to make a surprise attack on the occupants. She doesn't see much in the split second between rushing in and attacking, only that the Orc in the blue gear from earlier is on his knees near the door, and that a larger, more imposing orc is resting on a throne further away from him.
Graelor, however, sees the room more clearly from a distance. He can make out that the Orc in blue clothing is grovelling at the feet of the older and stronger Orc, assumedly the now-dead party's War Chief. The War Chief himself is slung idly over a throne of solid iron, and you can also see at the sides of the room there are a few bodies of adventurers that have been seemingly defeated. You don't recognise any of the unconscious bodies; there's a human that appears to be a fighter from all his armour and weapons, a kenku that looks to be a barbarian, a rock gnome in typical sorcerers attire, and a tabaxi in wizardly robes, still clutching a spell book in her claws.
[The way this will work is that Eggo Lass will make her surprise attack, then the orcs will roll initiative and we'll go off that, using the initiative Eggo Lass rolled earlier as the party's.]
[Also Sundial, is it okay if I do the Dust Devil on Salamanders turn instead of before Eggo? Just makes things easier with the Stealth check Eggo rolled if she wants to get in and ambush :) ]
[Also Sundial, is it okay if I do the Dust Devil on Salamanders turn instead of before Eggo? Just makes things easier with the Stealth check Eggo rolled if she wants to get in and ambush :) ]
((Hey yeah that's all good!!! sorry about that!))
"ORC MAN!"Salamander yells, pointing his finger at the guy. Running he decides to bite the original orc with his Primal Savagery sharpened teeth. Unfortunately those teeth are a no-show and he bites with his regular ones. "Oof." He scrambles to run away.
((Primal Savagery: 6 + 4 = 10; Damage: 3 poison though unlikely to hit))
((Move out the way and Bonus Action: Move Dust Devil towards the two orcs))
((Oh yeah since the bear spirit aura is on everyone everyone gets 8 temp HP))
The party goes first, as expected. Although Salamander's Primal Savagery falls short, the dust devil moves into place between the throne and the original orc and buffers both the attackers with strong winds and debris. They'll make the Strength Saving throws to avoid damage at the end of their turns, as for now, everyone except Salamander and Eggo Lass is up.
Also, since Sal cast the Dust Devil back in the Chest Room, I'm gonna say it's already been active for about 45 seconds, so I'll give you 2 rounds, including this one, with it still active :)
Sly moves just enough to get a good view of both the orc war chief and his sole remaining soldier. She will approach as much as she have to to get a good shot.
On the way there, she can't help but notice the crumpled form of the wizard. She stashes this information away for later.
'A war chief without a host, a king without a country...' she thinks idly, while freezing the air between her fingertips. Her transmuting abilities allowed her to gather and condense particles directly from the surrounding air. She forms them into the shape of an icy tablet.
She unleashes the energies, targeting the war chief. At once, the tablet gains speed and is flung through the intervening space. If anyone were to freeze time at this moment and look at the writing on the tablet that is hurtling through the air, they might be able to read: "To whom it may concern."
Ice knife: Attack: 25 (critical hit): 7 cold damage; effect after hit: the target and each creature within 5 feet of it must make a DC 13 Dex save or take an additional 7 cold damage.
[It's fine if the soldier isn't close enough to the war chief to be included in the aoe.]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The tablet of frozen air slices cleanly through the chain mail of the War Cheif, but since the other Orc is 10 feet away from him, he luckily avoids the splintering frozen shrapnel. The War Chief doesn't entirely seem to have much of a reaction to the attack, despite the fact it was executed flawlessly, yet does try to lean back slightly to avoid the shards of the tablet scarring his face even further. Dex Save: 12
The war chief's nonchalance leads to him reacting just slightly too slow. The remaining pieces of the Ice Tablet streak across his face and leave him with some additional scarring. Still, he doesn't seem to be too wounded at all by this attack in the grand scheme of things, and it hasn't lowered his fighting spirit whatsoever.
Just Graelor up now and then the Orc's will take their turns and then make their Dust Devil Strength Saving throws!
Graelor rushes forward to attack the War Cheif with his maul, but they instead intercept the attack, grabbing the ball of the maul in their meaty green fist and pushing it away with a sneer. Since Graelor is now within range of the Dust Devil, can they please make a Strength Saving throw. I would roll it myself on your sheet to keep combat flowing but my dice roller's been having a lot of issues recently.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Graelor takes half of 8 bludgeoning damage from the flying debris and manages to keep his footing despite the rapid winds.
The Orcs go to attack, the blue orc moving to attack Eggo Lass whilst the War Chief attacks Graelor since he's nearby and throws a spear at Salamander, since he's figured out he's responsible for the dust devil
Blue Orc: Attacks Eggo Lass with his Javelin: 9 to hit, 9 piercing damage on a hit. War Chief (-14): Multiattack: Attacks Graelor with his Greataxe: 7 to hit, 16 plus 8 slashing damage on a hit. Attacks Salamander with his Spear from range: 9 to hit, 9 plus 2 piercing damage on a hit.
They then both attempt to not get pulled into the dusty maelstrom Salamander has conjured with a Strength Saving Throw.
The Orc clad in blue is whipped around in the dust devil and sent flying on top of the body of the kenku barbarian with a whimper, whilst the War Chief just stands stoically amid the storm, a few pebbles hitting his face and armour but effectively leaving him unharmed.
Status Blue Orc :(-2) War Chief (-15)
Everyone is up for initiative, this is the last active round of the dust devil!
"Always with you orcs and trying to stab people!" says Eggo Lass as the javelin flies past. She readies her wand to loose a blast at the orc only to have second thoughts. She holds out her wand and begins to chant. Telepathically in the creepiest way she can she says to the orcs, if they're not obscured by the dust devil, (Let the darkness take you.) Blackness begins to emanate from her wand as she readies for her next move.
[[ She has Devil's Sight to still see in magical darkness so she'll see others when they can't see her. As for the rest, attacks have disadvantage if you can't see the enemy. But you also get advantage if they can't see you. So it'll cancel out to regular attacks. ]]
[The following is assuming that everyone is now in darkness]
Sly is enveloped in inky blackness, but at least she saw that Eggo was the one that caused it instead of some sort of trap.
Slightly inconvenienced by this, the wizard switches elements and heats up the air in her hand, before throwing the projectile at the position she last saw the orc warchief in.
Attack: 23, damage: 3 fire
Afterwards, she moves back far enough from Eggo to exit the darkness. She didn't want to risk being surprised.
Salamander watches the chaos unfold with great admiration. He doesn't know whose bodies were on the ground, but it's great fun to see everything spin around in his dust devil until it isn't Unfortunately, his human buddy somehow got involved in the mix, and he shouted a great roar when Graelor fell to the ground. He doesn't even notice the spear that was thrown at him (which unceremoniously clanks to the floor). "NO!!!"
Sprinting into action on all fours, deciding he doesn't want to risk it throwing a dagger in the middle of darkness, he runs and manages to make it to the fallen cleric.
((Action: Medicine check on Graelor 13 + 2 = 15))
Putting his hand on Graelor, he decides to attempt to stabilize him, and by that it meant CPR then slapping his face, trying to wake him up. "GET UP GET UP GET UP!"
((Strength check in case Salamander is in the Dust Devil circle nat 20 + 1 ayo = 21))

Eggo Lass successfully blots out all light in a 15 foot area, obscuring the orcs, dust devil and Graelor's body. Sly attacks the War Chief in the position she assumes he's in, but even though she can't see him, he's unaware of the streaking beam of fire approaching and is hit square in the jaw by the Fire Bolt, singing his cheeks slightly. Salamander Pie then rushes in to help Graelor, and even though he scuttles right past the orcs, they are unaware of his presence and therefore do not make opportunity attacks. Despite the howling winds and encroaching darkness, Salamander not only finds Graelor's body, but manages to slap some life into him, stabilising him, though he's still unconscious. Salamander also somehow manages to withstand the storm, and just continues to help Graelor like he's forgotten about the spell he cast himself. He takes half of 1 bludgeoning damage from debris, but is otherwise unaffected by the Dust Devil.
Eggo Lass bursts into the room and goes to make a surprise attack on the occupants.
