Hearing the alien wails, Rezivah jumps to her feet. Damn. I haven't restored my mana reserves, yet, and I can only pull so much from the aether around me.. pulling her crossbow from her back, she loaded a bolt from a small case on the outside of her right thigh. She trains her sights on the door to the hedron which Vasha now valiantly holds. The moment she sees anything and has a clear shot, she's letting the bolt loose.
The sudden action from camp startles Kayn as he's focusing on recalling the lore of web spell. He immediately stows his spellbook and hops atop the rock that Vasha vacated. He remembered these these were pretty good at squeezing through tight spaces. If they tried that again, they'd have to go through him.
Kayn's gnarlid stands, stumbles, then composes himself. Not ready for another fight, Kayn sends it off out of sight.
(Kayn hops atop the rock and prepares to dodge) (Gnarlid dashes to old camp (move 40, climb speed))
Vesra was in the process of bandaging up Ato’s wounds when the unearthly wails started up again. “Begonias, these aren’t going to have time to heal the old fashioned way,” she cursed, quickly casting cure wounds on the rogue.
Ato shivered as the sounds started from inside the hedron once again. He looked at Vesra, when she cursed, started to respond and stopped as her magic courses through his body. "Thank you, Vesra, that helped. And now we fight again, it seems. Save your magic for the battle."
He moves to a point behind Kayn and the boulder where he is partially hidden at the edge of the doorway but can still stab past the goblin wizard with his broadsheet at a foe beyond.
[Move to C4, Stealth: 23 for Adv on next sneak attack]
With the thing dead Veythe happily shifted over to the campfire and pulled out her lute to pluck and play at a restful song. She imbued the song with a bit of magic as she leaned back and sighed against a tree, sending a soft smile and Vasha's direction when the other woman took up watch on the boulder. Hopefully the restful music will help the party in healing--or at least Veythe intended it to be so, but then the wailing started again.
"Oh for--" Veythe got to her feet with a grimace and shifted so that her back was to the tree. She settled her lute down away and pulled out Bravery and Rest with a scowl to her face. Why couldn't these creepy bug things be over with already? With a growl she ran her fingers over Rest and raised it to her lips to blow out a short tune, other hand pressed to her stomach. If they were to be in battle again she'd rather be healed now. Although a nice, long rest after this would be appreciated.
As the group braces for the new onslaught, four alien aberrations round the far corridor's corner, skidding across the ground as they rapidly and rabidly take the sharp turn at full speed. Their appearance reminds you of flayed corpses with chitinous bleached bone exposed and protruding from their meaty-pink flesh. Their arms are a deep purple, like they were dipped in writing ink, with each finger tipped into a sharp claw. Tiny mouths are affixed to the palms of their larger hands, wide open and screeching. They barrel toward the group, an action Rezivah counters by firing a crossbow bolt. It whizzes past Kayn's ear through the narrow gap, and sinks itself into the first aberration's shoulder [5 piercing damage]. The palms of its hands shriek, joined by the other creatures' palms, as thick slivers of bleached bone begin to protrude from their hands. The first two aberrations take cover behind the stairs, firing a wave of spikes towards Kayn and Vasha, their volley quickly joined in by the other two aberrations behind them, who launch their own spikes as they continue rushing towards the group.
While Kayn is able to quickly dodge the poorly-aimed shots, Vasha is slammed in the gut by one of these thick spikes, which pierces her through [10 piercing damage].

Vasha felt the warm glow of healing course through her, thanks to her sister. She jumped forward, throwing a hook at the nearest monstrosity, slicing it across the torso. Knowing Kayn was also being attacked, she jumped back to help him hold the line.
(Moved forward 5', attack 20 for 5 damage, moved back 5', bonus action - use 1 Ki point to Dodge)
Rezivah catches a glimpse of an abomination past Kayn and takes a shot as he weaves past some projectile. This missile distracted Rezivah however, as it flew passed her and she ducked instictively, making her shot miss by a wide margin. She clenched her jaws, reloading another bolt.
"Nope!" Kayn yelps, hopping behind the boulder for cover. He pulls a long feather from his component pouch and focuses on the group of creatures. As he feels the mana flowing through the feather he focuses on the ugly abominations before him. One of them seems to fall into an inactive state.
(Casts sleep, moves for cover behind boulder) (Gnarlid makes it to camp site and begins licking its wounds)
Feeling much better Veythe rolled her shoulders, hefted Bravery, and moved to the left to get a good bead into the hedron and see what they were messing with. It didn't take long to shift before her vision felt a little wonky and--where did everyone go?!--Veythe grit her teeth. Right. Magical bullshit hedron. She noticed the effects earlier, growled, and took aim at the beast furthest from her that she could still see. Fine then, fine. Ugly bug bastard--she'll just slam into that one.
(move 10' to e2; attack b10 @ 22 to hit, 6 damage piercing)
Ato stayed nestled into the space around the edge of the doorway, behind Kayn and the boulder, planning to strike out at the first if the creatures that approached within reach. They appeared to be completely unaware he was there, and he planned to make the most of that.
Without warning, everyone disappeared. He could still hear Kayn moving nervously next to him, so they weren't gone. Invisible then. The two horrors closest to the doorway had vanished as well, not good!, but he could see the two further into the hedron were still visible. Well then, he'd wait for one of them to get closer, unless one of the front pair were to reappear and present a more appealing target.
[Stay in hiding, Readied action to attack first abomination that he's able to]
As the battle wears on, everyone's appearance seems to fade from view, save for the two aberrations firing volleys of spikes through the air towards the entrance. Within seconds of Vesra curing her sister, those who were slowly fading from view have disappeared, completely invisible. Vasha looks around, confused at the situation, until she is abruptly ran into by an unseen force. Falling to the ground, she looks up to see an aberration barreling through. A second one follows closely behind, stepping on her and coming into full view of the party [2 bludgeoning damage]. She's able to avoid the third one as she rolls to the side.
As the first one one charges through Vasha and suddenly appears, Ato is at the ready, and thrusts his broadspear into the abomination's, drawing lots of silver blood. It shrieks, and the three of them look at Ato, as if about to strike. Instead, they stop themselves, and after chittering into the open air, they continue on their way towards the edge of the cliff.
As the third abomination ran past Vasha, she managed to stick a hook into its side. Rolling over, she managed to stand once again, and quickly managed to dodge a volley of spikes. "The ****?" she said, when she realized it was just her and Ato left. Where had everyone gone? Where was her sister? Panic welled up in her. "******* bastard!" She lashed out with a fist. Then another, and another. The creature screamed out in pain, as it was being pummeled to death under her knuckles. In the final blow, Vasha slammed her fist into its head, with a sickening crunch. Chitin broke into pieces and flew in all directions, then it fell into a pile at her feet.
(Stood up, attacking F3- Attack 16 to hit for 6 damage, spent 1 Ki point, Flurry of Blows 23 to hit for 7 damage, Flurry of Blows 20 to hit for 5 damage)
All of sudden everyone disappears. Rezivah didn't understand what was going on, but she heard movement. Suddenly, several of them come back into view, Ato spearing one of them, Vasha now on the ground slashing another. These were doing the same as the larger monsters. They're trying to escape. Rezivah couldn't have that. "We can't let them escape!" She said, dropping her crossbow. She pulls two thin daggers from between her thighs and lunges at of the aberrations that dashes by, plunging both blades deeply into the thing's back.
(Move to 1e. Drop crossbow at 1d- free action, pull daggers- free object interaction. Dagger attack- action, dagger attack- bonus action. 7 piercing damage to e0 aberration.)
With a frustrated grimace at his lack of damage to the thing, Ato dodges back a step or two to give himself room to maneuver, broadspear stabbing. He connects with the tip and manages a glancing blow, the smooth chitinous shell of the beast continuing to dampen his efforts. "Kayn, don't let it get away! I know you're here somewhere!" Still moving, he circles towards the edge of the cliff where Resivah struggles with another abomination.
[Disengage bonus action, move to B3, Sneak Attack on D3: 20, 9 damage, Move to C1]
Everyone disappeared! He felt the magic of the hedron pulse. It happened again, he thought. That would mean he might be invisible as well. He moves quickly to see if the creature follows his movements, when it doesn't he leaps atop and over the boulder. Gathering his mana, he unleashes a massive fire bolt into the aberration's face and takes cover on the opposite side of the boulder. The aberration's screaming causes him to peek over the boulder just in time to see its chitinous 'face' melting into a pile of goo.
(Fire bolt on D3 creature, 10 damage, moved to D5)
Veythe cursed when the creatures came barreling out of the hedron--running into people, attacking, and suddenly popping into existence. She tracked one with Bravery, followed after it, and took a shot. Veythe watched as the bolt went wide and cursed. Just damn perfect. She glanced down to Bravery and stroked a finger down the center.
"It's alright," she said softly. "You've done well."
Screeching in pain from Rezivah's daggers, the aberration doesn't attack her, but disengages and barrels down the cliff towards its base, making its way to the river. Beads of silver blood bounce against the rock and dirt like mercury, as if the earth itself refuses to absorb or mingle with the creature's blood. The group notices the small patches of bleached and withered rock wherever the aberration's appendages touch the ground.
