I had a party that always got SO MAD when I used my bottle... just keep in mind that while it may help you, it also turns off everyone else’s ability to cast “target you see” spells, make Opportunity Attacks, or attack without disadvantage... the rest of your team may be less optimized for fog than you are, and it’s a big effect!
Thanks for the feedback on your experience. I did think about that, which is why it might be more optimised that I'm a tabaxi. Can speed to the Rear of enemy lines to blind those guys out, leaving the front half for the party to engage

I played a character with an item that surrounded me with darkness. If seriously hindered the rest of the party, and we were continually positioning ourselves. Eventually, by unanimous decision, we retired that magic item.
Remember that if you are in darkness then no-one can heal you or buff you (healing word and bless requires sight). It also means you'll probably never be in range of the paladin's auras.
While the huge radius of the Eversmoking Bottle is a bit tough to use as an offensive tool, it's still pretty great for making a getaway. It can also be good for moving the fight out of disadvantageous terrain.
My goal is to find an impotent eversmoking bottle as a homebrew item perhaps, as I'm playing an EK with blind fighting in my current campaign. So this is going to be an item I'm specifically looking for in different cities etc.
Getting a normal one will work as well, but my party will not be super happy, so it's for clutch moments etc.

My AL game where I played a level 1 tabaxi ranger dropped the ever smoking bottle as the magic item.
I guess my level 2 fighting style is so going to be blind fighting.
Dash to the rear line or to the archers, uncork the bottle n unleash hell

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.

It could be a good tactic if you are outdoors and have the space. 60’ radius is pretty big and it gets bigger each round.
if you are indoors then it becomes less useful.
