Wait, you wanted a betterplasmoid, autognome and thri-kreen? I thought they were super over powered.
Autognome I didn't comment on flavour. Thri-Keen I noted missed the flavour mark for me and I asked for the arms to be more relevant. Plasmoid I remarked was "the worst lineage in the survey" and "immensely OP". Well, it seems nearly everybody disagrees...

what makes the plasmoid super op? being able to squeeze through things while naked?
That trait is basically the equivalent of a permanent enlarge/reduce without the damage reduction and you can get even smaller.
having an at will 10 foot mage hand?
That's not the problem.
being able to have 1 arm?
Also, that's not the problem. The damage resistances, the unthematic hold breath, the resistance to a prevalent condition, and the fact it's quite unthematic in some areas is my power and theme problem.

The hold breath is logical as it can shape its form so it can shape an airtight skin and as the UA doesn't give us fluff we don't know about its habitat, the poison and acid resistance and the advantage is not game breaking. And talking about unthematic creatures when the UA is about the multi-verse is a bit, how do I phrase this without being an arse about it, strange?

I agree. Those are basically my complaints about them too.

I don't need to understand your opinion, I just need to understand my stance and when others don't want to hear it. I am sorry for commenting.
You are forgiven.
Myself I just think playing a blob would be boring AF, and Yamana please never apologize for posting unless you insult someone, which you did not do.
Disagree strongly with the first part. I think playing an ooze would be fun as hell. However, the second part I agree with. No one here really needs to apologize unless they insult someone else, and disagreements aren't the same thing as insulting. No harm, no foul, and respectful discussions and debates are constructive.
No need to apologize for merely commenting your opinion. Everyone should be free to do that.

Being able to squeeze through tight spaces is not, I'd say, the main draw of Enlarge/Reduce. It's circumstantially very strong to be able to, say, squeeze through windows and gaps under doors, but I think you might be overestimating the power of the effect considering you can't wear or carry anything while doing so - it will trivialize a small proportion of encounters, but every time you do it you're taking a risk, assuming you're a class that relies on armor, equipment, spell components/focuses, or party members.
Resistances are always a nice perk, but acid and poison aren't actually that common, depending on the setting. Dwarves have the exact same poison resistances, and damn near nothing does acid damage anyway except maybe other oozes, in which case of course an ooze is going to be resistant to oozes.
If you think it's unthematic, I disagree - the race is basically a compilation of weird gimmicks you'll see by going to the Monster tab in DnDBeyond and filtering by the Ooze creature type - but you're entitled to your opinion. If you think it's OP, I'm not trying to shout you down, just encouraging you that it probably won't be the case.

At first, I was most excited for the autognome...something about a tiny robot trying to find their place in the world just seems right...countless examples aplenty ; )
Plus, being able to engage "HOSTILE MODE" on an Evocation Wizard or Sorcerer is too good to pass up.
...but as time has passed, I think I would be excited for the Plasmoid lineage.
However, I feel like WotC need to go a bit further with the concept.
Perhaps give the Plasmoid an innate "Spider Climb", which would allow them to "stick" to walls, thereby boosting their exploration skills.
Or, perhaps give them the ability to alter their appearance to appear "normal"...similar to "Disguise Self" or "Alter Self"....think the T-1000 from "Terminator 2".
If they wanted to be particularly bold, they might even allow them to make melee attacks at an extra 5ft range...similar to bugbears, but in this case, it would be due to a plasmoid's gelatinous appendages "stretching" the extra distance.
I dunno...if I'm going to be playing a sentient, malleable blob, I want to FEEL like one.
My largest pet peeve with the UA is that Protector Aasimar have a completely different feature called radiant soul than the Astral Elf. Is it just me, or should different races be given the same ability under the same name, and different abilities under different names?
Celestial Warlocks' level 6 ability is also named Radiant Soul.
WotC needs to buy a thesaurus.
What it really comes down to is that they need better editors, who can cross-reference previous materials.

Plasmoid isn't super overpowered at all. It just rules. It's the best one in there.

I will love playing an amorphous, genderless blob. And yes that was an insult.
I'm just excited for the Plasmoids. Finally, an official ooze race! I have been dreaming about playing a ooze character without resorting to homebrew.
Yeah, I agree.
At first, I was most excited for the autognome...something about a tiny robot trying to find their place in the world just seems right...countless examples aplenty ; )

It's kinda interesting that the Astral Elf does not seem to be immune to magical sleep effects like other elves or even half-elves...
Fey Ancestry for a regular elf/half-elf reads as "You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep."
Whilst Fey Ancestry for an Astral Elf reads as "You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed condition on yourself."
I understand that UA is test material, but it's a pretty big miss. I wonder if it was done deliberately or if it was simply a mistake?
EDIT: My mistake, it is now mentioned in the Trance feature.
What it really comes down to is that they need better editors, who can cross-reference previous materials.
I don't think there was ever a point where D&D didn't need that.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
