Yeah. It sucks that those didn't get improved from the UA to the final form, IMHO.
Xanathar's 2.0 could have them, just to fill pages if it needs more. If it is Planescape, I kind of doubt that it would have sidekick rules in it, but anything's possible.
Even if it a Planescape type book it could have sidekicks for the run of the mill campaigns on Eberron, Forgotten Realms or even Wildmount sidekicks are great if you dont have a full group and need extra hands so to speak. Like back in 1st edition with Henchpersons.
Yeah, it's possible. I think it's less likely in a Planescape book than a general Xanathar's 2.0 book, though.

Also when or if we want sidekicks, can we please bring back applying them to monsters instead of using basic stat blocks like they did in the Essentials kit Only customizable via adding player races. Shure the humanoid one size fits all approach to the sidekicks is helpful, but making monster sidekicks was really cool and i feel that putting in guidelines to modify monsters to make them more apropriate sidekicks would be so very nice, even if it is no more than making changes to the basic stat block by changing the order of its abillity scores, the creature type, the size and adding one or two pre approved common monster abillities like shadow stealth and charge to it

i am soup, with too many ideas (all of them very spicy) who has made sufficient homebrew material and character to last an thousand human lifetimes
Exploration rules would be awesome, would make those ranger features useful!
We already have very expanded sea travel and adventure rules from Ghosts of saltmarch that are just delightful, if we get the same amount of love and care to land travel, perhaps even more, with ways to make the entire party engaged and let the ranger shine, that is the dream (that Will probably never happen), they could even merge such an UA with more class variants that integrate especially well with the newer exploration rules to throw rangers especially a extra bone and let fighters do something extra

So is this a setup for a ravenloft setting book or a planescape as barovia is in the shadowfel?
It sure seems that way...
Certainly, the Spirits Bard can be presented as a sinister possession …though I enjoy that the flexibility can be more "benevolent" or helpful spirits aiding the bard.

They did say Vistani would be in two upcoming books.

Yeah. Given that Vistani can travel through the Multiverse, that makes me think they'll be in Xanathar's 2.0/Planescape, and either a Ravenloft or Innistrad setting after that.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
If the Spirits Bard and Undead Warlock are for a Ravenloft/other book, that implies that there will be no more UAs that come out in the November book. What does that leave us with? The announcement is probably coming up soonish.

Yeah, soon-ish. I think they'll announce it around the time Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden (ID:RotF) is released. That way, they can keep people hyped for one book, up until most people have bought it, and then get people hyped for the November release.

I know there has been a lot of speculation about a Ravenloft setting book, and i almost feels like this confirms its. Due to the tarroka name drop, although that also could have just been a cheeky way to avoid using the work tarot
Although when you think about it this way, they did name the Article/PDF “Subclasses 4” implying its part of the same set the older ones belonged to
Be nice if they stopped putting FREAKING MAGIC RESISTANCE on them...
*Angry DM noises*
Well there are places where it could work, even if it is a bit overused, for instance an tiefling subrace decended from rakshasa, with Only a single innate spell instead of several, that being like disguise self, detect thoughts or counterspell

More exploration rules too, having one standard crafting system instead of Three different Ones spread across the PHB, DMG and XGtE.

Don't they have UA Into the Wild for exploration rules? https://media.wizards.com/2018/dnd/downloads/UA_IntoTheWild.pdf
Yes, they are Nice, but they are not official, more a proof of concept, and do not really expand the rules past common sense

Look at the ToA adventure it has some for getting lost in Chult which is always fun
Well, it looks like we were all wrong. There's a new UA, here's the link to the thread discussing it:

Maybe it's a mix of that, and then promotion for the Revamped Curse of Strahd

I hope the next UA includes more Races, because they haven't playtested any of those in some time
I don't think they're going to playtest races anymore. They're normally fairly easy to design.
