So, I am currently working on something for my character in a campaign. Completely building it from scratch in the creator.
The gist of it is that my DM created a table for drunkenness for my Drunken Monk in a Saltmarsh campaign. I'll post the table below. I have three levels of drunkenness depending on how much I drink. But I cannot figure out a way to add different bonuses at different levels in the homebrew. I've scanned around the forums but can't seem to find anything for what I'm trying to do.
I am fairly new to creating homebrew things on the site and not even sure if a feat would be the best foundation for it. Does anyone have any tips on creating a homebrew that tracks uses like charges, but gives benefits depending on how many "uses" you use?
Tipsy
6 beers
+1 to Dex Checks and Saves / -1 Wis Checks and Saves
Drunk
12 beers
Immune to Fear and ignores difficult terrain
Disadvantage on ranged attacks
-1 to Int Checks and Saves
Black Out
18 beers
Lasts 1 minute...
+1 to all melee attacks
+2 damage to all damage dealt
Cancel a Crit
Disadv. on all Checks except attacks
Can't move more than 10 ft in same direction.
After 1 minute, gain 1 level of exhaustion and pass out for 1d4 hours
Booo. lol oh well. Thanks for at least setting me straight so I'm not wasting hours and hours trying to figure it out... or at least hours and hours more than I have. I appreciate the response.
What you could do is make it as three different feats or magic items with stacking layers of effects that would accumulate as the feats (or items) are added onto the PC.
Technically you can use magic items to replicate some of these effects. Just equip the appropriate item at each condition level and unequip when the effect goes away.
