I'm trying to set up a race for one of my PCs that the one of the Racial Traits is Barkskin where unarmored AC is equal to 12 + dexterity modifier. I can't seem to figure out what modifier parameters to input to have this reflect after setting up the PC's character profile using the homebrewed class.
I've tried "Modifier Type": Set, "Modifier Subtype" Unarmored Armor Class, but couldn't seem to input anything else but select DEX as ability and 12 to fixed value. That selection seemed to add the unarmored AC to the default AC. When completing a character profile, the AC was astronomically high.
I've tried "Modifier Type": Set, "Modifier Subtype" AC Max Dex Unarmored Modifier, but also couldn't seem to input anything else but select DEX as ability and 12 to fixed value again but only seemed to put a ceiling to the AC.
Does anyone know what to input as a modifier in the homebrew fields for racial traits to get the desired "unarmored AC is equal to 12 + dexterity modifier" outcome? Thanks everyone!
It’s counting the Dex mod twice because you are including it in your calculation. Note, neither Sillvva nor I included any reference to Dex in the modifier we told you to use. That’s because the system automatically calculates Dex into the AC. So remove any reference to Dex from your modifier and only use exactly what we told you to use.
I had tried it with and without the dex listed as primary stat but it had appeared to not make a difference. After your recent reply, I tested it twice again without dex being listed and just the Fixed 2 and created 2 test characters and it worked. Not sure what I saw before. Prob a fluke.

Still doesn't work. DND Beyond is counting my dexterity modifier twice. I copy and pasted the propagated information from a Dexterity 18 PC:
