I'm tooling around with a cleric version of the Arcane Trickster Rogue subclass. Arcane Trickster works fine when you select it at third level and go to the spells tab, it knows you get 3 cantrips and 3 1st level spells. But I can't see where to modify that for my new subclass (I based it off of the Arcane Trickster). I'd like to limit a 3rd level Rogue to 2 cantrips and one 1st level spell prepared, for example. Help?
For that matter, if I was just changing the Arcane Trickster, where would I go to change the number of spells they have at particular levels?

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
As it stands, I do not believe you can currently edit the amount of cantrips known/spells prepared. They appear to be pre-set to standard values. You can set Level or Half-level in the 'Spell Prepare Type' box within Basic Information, but nothing more specific.
I believe the only features we have for subclasses are the same as in official subclasses. Arcane Trickster/Eldritch Knight are the only official subclasses that add in spellcasting to non-casting classes, both with the same spell/cantrip known/learned limits, which is what we appear to get here.
Are there any plans to make this adjustable as I would like to make an Eldritch Knight style subclass but with different cantrips/spells known progressions than is available?

Nothing has been announced so far, but the developers have said they will revisit and improve homebrew further down the line. I can't promise this will be included or when it will be, but anything is possible - this was said in the latest Developer Update/Q&A stream on Twitch. You can find the full video here.
I am terribly sorry for the thread necro, but did we ever get a clarification on this topic?
I am currently homebrewing a rogue archetype with spellcasting and I have _no_ idea where the spells known and spell slots are calculated from.
If they are fixed (and I am fine with that), I might suggest two things:
1) Reduce the rogues number of cantrips starting at two like the Eldritch Knight (and give mage hand as a fixed additional spell).
2) Add an option that lets us add individual spell slots to a character. Either via Class Features or by Items (preferably by both).
Also, "Spell Prepare Type":
a) What exactly does it do?
b) Why is "Arcane Trickster" listed as an example for half? Arcane Tricksterand Eldritch Knight are _third_ casters.
EDIT:
I get it now. It's referring to how many spells they can prepare per long rest (if any). Half-Casters like Paladin and Artificer can only choose half their level (+ Spell ability modifier). Still weird since all subclasses that grant spellcasting have been spells known casters and not preparing.
Did you ever figure out how to adjust spells for homebrew EKs? I've been trying to figure out how to change the spell list for my Jedi variant of the EK, but hitting a brick wall. Thank you!
The "Half" selection is for EK casting.Update: It automatically does 1/3 casting. I have done the same thing with a Divine Rogue. I think I put Cleric for additional spell list, but it isn't copied when you make a new version.

Thanks, Villain. I was worried my subclass was too powerful with all those spells added. But if half-level is official... :)

That is incorrect, the “half” selection does nothing for homebrew.
