I've noticed on many of my character sheets and the character sheets of my players that they end up having higher attack bonuses than they should. For example, one of my players just received a new item. This new item is strength based, and she has a strength mod of +2. She has a proficiency bonus of +3, and the weapon grants a +3 to attack and damage rolls. She should only have a +8, but it's showing she has a +10. Now, this is a homebrew weapon, so I checked all the other weapons in her inventory. She has just 2 regular daggers, dex based weapons for her, and her dex is only +3. Again, she's proficient, so a total of +6 to hit. However, once again, it's showing a +10. In fact, all her weapons have a +10 modifier, when absolutely none should be above +8. It isn't just this character, but this is the one that stuck out because there's no way she should have +10 to anything right now without a +5 magic weapon. Thanks in advance
Check for misbehaving homebrew. That is almost always the cause. Remove a homebrew thing, if the stats are still wrong, add it back and remove something else. Repeat until you find the problem item.
I've tried that, but even on characters that don't have homebrew items the issue persists. And if it was a misbehaving item, why would it affect all the other weapons?
That homebrew you mentioned probably has the wrong modifier for something. It may have worked on a test character because it had nothing else to get compared to.
But that doesn't explain why all the other weapons are acting up as well, and why on some characters who have no homebrew items the same issue is occuring
I was having the same problem - I couldn't figure out why my Unarmed Attack was showing 3 higher than it should. I unequipped my +3 to hit homebrew axe, and the Unarmed Attack bonus went down by three.
This issue still hasn't been resolved. Homebrew items still skew calculations. Selected someone else's Arrow +2 and Arrow +3 creation, and it threw off all calculations. Once those were deleted, the calculations were accurate.

As stated previously in this thread, this is not a bug. Instead, it is a case of homebrew items being set up incorrectly. D&D Beyond cannot control how the community sets up their homebrew items and thus cannot guarantee they are set up correctly.

It sounds like the homebrew weapon has a modifier that is adding a bonus to all melee attacks (this is a modifier that's available).
As others suggested, try removing homebrew one at a time.

Thanks for the resolution Stormknight!

Those were probably not coded properly.
