Description
A bone golem is a grotesque assortment of bones held together by strips of leather in place of ligaments. It has a humanoid shape, save for an extra set of arms, and is imbued with uncanny dexterity. Powerful enchantments protect it, deflecting spells and all but the most potent weapons.
But I don't see why I need to give them the item so they can see it, it's not necessarily for them, I just want them to see it.
It seems like an oversight on dndbeyon's side.
You can copy/paste anything, not just monsters:
Divine Censer
Wondrous Item, common (requires attunement by a Cleric or Paladin)
This antique, bronze censer is adorned with holy symbols. While you are holding it, you gain the following benefits:
You can use the censer as a spellcasting focus for your cleric or paladin spells.
You can try to cast a cantrip that you don’t know. The cantrip must be on the cleric spell list, and you must make a DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) check. If the check succeeds, you cast the spell. If the check fails, so does the spell, and the action used to cast the spell is wasted. In either case, you can’t use this property again until you finish a long rest.
I had a guest play as this monster for a session but he was unable to view it. I thought it was because he wasn't in the campaign but none of my players could either.

They cannot view it via that link because it is unpublished. I cannot view it either. If they are in your campaign though, and go to their character sheets, they could add it to their character as an “extra” and view it there.
Players in your campaigns should be able to view unpublished homebrew if they are signed into the site.
I had an issue where this wasn't working, and its because we were using Steam's chat and it was opening in the Chrome instance that Steam uses, where they weren't signed in.

I never use any of that stuff. All of my players can see everything in my collection, and I theirs. As long as we are specifically looking in that campaign.
Do your players have subscriptions here? If I'm remembering correctly I don't think you can access anyone else's homebrew without a Hero Tier sub, could be a reason they're not able to follow the link.
I know this is possible though. I have sent unpublished work to a fellow DM to look over before.

Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.

Right, but like I've mentioned before, I just want people to see it, I don't want them going through so many hoops to do so.
I do understand that, I just don't think it's an intuitive system.

Like I said, you can copy/past and PM it directly to them. How much simpler do you need it to be than that? The whole point of “unpublished” is that people cannot see it without special access.
I am trying to share some of my homebrew items with my players through links but they get 404 error.
This happens with the homebrew items that I have not published.
Why do I need to publish items so my players can see them?
I want them to be able to see items/monsters I've made without the need to publicly publish the.
They can see them directly on character sheets of characters in campaigns with you.
You can also copy/past into a forum or PM like this:
Immutable Form. The golem is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

I'm still disappointed they can't just look at the page but this is a workaround.
Thank you for letting me know.
I've sent players plenty of links to homebrew creations that aren't published and it's worked just fine. What's one of the items you sent?
Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch - A pair of magical firearms for your Gunslinger or Artificer.
