The implementation of spoiler tags in homebrew materials seems to be only partially complete. I created a new feat for a player which contained information that they would not know until the effect on their character. I wrapped this information in a spoiler tag in the description and then viewed the homebrew on the feat's details page; everything looked great. The player then added the feat to their character in the builder, which dutifully showed the player everything in the feat, including the complete spoiler text. Additionally, when viewing the character sheet, the sidebar also dutifully showed them all the information in the spoiler.
If the spoiler tag is used, it should continue to work wherever it's viewed, otherwise it should probably be removed.
I believe the spoiler tag is included in all the RTF editors by default. It's just the RTF editor dndbeyond decided to use all those years ago. It's useful for things on this forum for hiding unnecessary or spoilers from anyone that actively does not want to read something. I don't believe the spoiler tag has any implementation in the homebrew system.
That does seem a massive shame that it got changed; I had no idea this was previously a thing you could do (and that it is now non-functioning). Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.

It used to, if you put something in a spoiler it, and the spoiler itself would be completely invisible on the character sheet. It was very useful until they changed things recently: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/155793-spoilers-in-magic-item-descriptions-no-longer).
