Has there been any new development on the ability to create mundane homebrew items like a 1d12 greatsword with the announcement of "One DnD" and WoTC buying ddb?
in fact, any communication whatsoever has all but ground to a halt since the acquisition.

Anyone here know how to make a Cannon? Recently got a module that adds cannons but there isn't exactly any sort of "carry cannon" weapon in the game per say. Specifically I'm looking for a weapon that deals at least 3d10 Piercing, a range of 120/240, and we are using Critical Role firearms so they have to have the Misfire mechanics and so forth. Darn, that's unfortunate. Well at least the closest I can get to that is a Blunderbuss or a Musket, not exactly what I'm looking for, maybe I can alter the range of the Blunderbuss with a modifier? If not then a portable cannon that can fire 15ft/60ft doesn't sound all that bad.

im not finding the ignore weapon property, im trying to turn a pepperbox from 1d10 to 2d6, im sorry if i missed it, but i can't find a way to fix it
You can make a homebrew weapon based off of a Pistol, Automatic. This is the only ranged weapon that uses 2d6 as the damage dice. As IamSposta said, you won't be able to change the range listed, so that information should be in the text description of your homebrew weapon. At least this gets the correct damage dice button to show up on your sheet.
If you were trying to make a 2d6 melee weapon, you should base it off the Greatsword.
If you want to check out homebrew items using every single damage die(dice) available, give a glace at my magic items. Each one has been changed to make basically the same weapon with the necessary changes. Starting at 2d8, only firearm weapons are available, so each of my homebrew items has notes about adding proficiency to firearms and notes saying to ignore the ranged and firearm information and treat this as a melee weapon, similar to this for my 6d8 Darksaber:
This item adds proficiency with Firearms, this only applies to the Darksaber. This weapon will show up on your character sheet as a ranged weapon. This is considered a melee weapon with a reach of 5 ft. Ignore all references to Ammunition, Firearms, Range, or Reloading. Ignore everything after this point.
the spear is a versatile weapon, and im trying to change the 2hand damage to 2d4 instead of 1d6 for /reasons/ but i can't figure out how to use the god damn item creator. none of the modifier forms seem to work. can anyone help?

What you are attempting to accomplish is impossible. It is not possible to change the base damage for a weapon, and the versatile trait is hard coded to simply increment the die size by 1 for two-handed use.
That's unfortunate to hear. i kinda wish there was a way to custom create a weapon without pre-coded values. Oh well. Alternatively, is there a way to add reach 5ft to, and remove the thrown property?

Is it possible for a weapon to have two different hit dice? Like 1d8 piercing and 1d4 necrotic damage?
