I know when creating a custom magic item you can set it up to apply a condition. For example, apply poison on hit. But I don't see where that is actually displayed on the character sheet. I know you can type it in the description but is there some way to make the configured condition show?
In case you get overwhelmed, keep two things in mind:
1. All sections below the main characteristics of an item (including its description) are intended to tie its abilities to the sheet. "Additional Information" handles weight, attunement, etc", and below that there are three sections: "Modifiers", for most things like basic changes on the sheet granted by the items, "Conditions", to apply or prevent conditions (that's the one you want), and "Spells" to define which spells the item grants, and how.
2. When in doubt, make a copy of a weapon that does more or less what you want, if possible, and see how the bottom sections are filled out. For example, Dagger of Venom. :p
Are you asking how to indicate on a characters sheet when they have been poisoned by an item or attack?
At the top of the character sheet, click on the hit points box (where you would adjust down hp after taking damage. At the bottom of that pop-up box is a section to manage conditions, with a drop down of the all the conditions, including Poisoned
Onyx, thank you for the references. Those are what I used to learn about the tool originally.
The Dagger of Venom is a prime example of what I'm talking about. It has a condition on it that causes Poison for 1 minute. But when you add that weapon to a character, no where in the weapon stats does it mention the poison condition other than the item description (which is typed in).
From what I can tell, Conditions added to items don't show up anywhere in the character sheet UI. Am I missing something?
If a character "wields" the dagger, the info on the condition appears in the items section, if you expand the dagger of venom entry. It would be helpful if it should up when that entry is collapsed. Perhaps that will change with the character sheet revamp.
That’s just it, even if it’s wielded, it doesn’t show. Sure, the description has the info but that is typed in separate, not based on the condition itself.

Maybe the new sheet will help.
Going back 2 years on this one, but this is the closest I can find.
Magic Items don't appear to have the ability to set conditions in the character sheet. Unless I'm missing something or my Google-fu sucks, the only purpose I see to setting Conditions in a magic item is to display in the notes on the description page. There's modifiers for resistance, immunity, and vulnerability, but no way to turn on a condition like blinded or invisible by equipping a magic item.

Yes. Even a year later this does not seem to work.
I hope they will enable this at some point.
