Fortunately, VGM doesn't count Aasimar as Monstrous Adventurer like the Goblin. The latest version of it in EGW is basically a copy of that in DMG (base, no subraces).
I mean, I would like to see feats for skills, but it looks like that one fell by the wayside.
Oh yeah, no. Apparently the feedback from that UA was so bad that it died before the ink was even dry. 🤷♂️
That's saddening, I liked the skill feats.
So did I. But many folks apparently didn’t want to “waste an ASI” one a feat for a skill “[they] would never use.” But chasing combat stats and ignoring Skills and RP opportunities sounds to be the argument of a munchkin IMHO.
I'm super depressed skill specialist feats died. I love playing skillmonkeys with tons of proficiencies who can do a huge range of stuff. Enough so that there are times I have to actively remind myself that other people in the party have skills too and would occasionally like to use them q_q.

Agreed!!
This is like the second time today I am hearing about these skill feats. What were they?

I will third this. I find wanting to have as many skills and tool proficiencies more appealing then spells or combat skills half the time!

I don't recall seeing that one before. Why on earth did it die? Nothing on there is really of interest to me, but I can see what some folks would like it, and I can't see how it would cause any problems. So why? Did they offer an explanation?

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

This one was from 2017, and never made it to DDB I think.

Sure, I feel that way too. Like I said, I didn't see anything there I wanted. But I can see why someone else would want it. What's it hurt? As long as there's no harm, why not?

Nobody forces them to pick the feats. I guess that's my issue here. it's not like these options are INFLICTED on someone to ruin the flavor of a game. it's an option. Don't like it, don't pick it. If it super offends you, be the DM and ban it.
Of all the things that they could release that doesn't /bother/ anyone, this pretty much tops the list of non annoying content. Who cares if someone wants to take one of those feats? I'd by far rather see these than see GWM #6725

There has been strong hints of VGM "monster" races being updated. I've heard a rumor of an errata for VGM as well.
Gosh, I hope that's true. I doubt it, because you think they'd market the book off of that, but I hope that happens.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
I hope that don’t mess with Aasimar too much. I will see when the book is released.

Ok those look awesome in my book. I don’t know why they weren’t popular at all.

Assuming the most recent subclass UA is too new for consideration, the printed subclasses (including UA and reprints) will be the following*
That's at least 2 for everyone, which I think is an improvement over XGE. I'm still miffed the wizard only received one subclass in that book.
*Names might change between UA and publication.
