It may not be as wholesome, but I'm mostly excited that DDB doesn't get to drag their feet on CFVs anymore. Hopefully building out the system they need to make CFVs work means their homebrew tools get to be less godawful for the rest of us, as well. Implementing those sorts of core changes to how classes and characters are built is super exciting; more levers to pull is always awesome.

I really hope it leads to custom classes in the homebrew system.
I know they said that they didn't expect 5e to have core rule changes when they build the system but to be honest that seems a bit short sided considering every other version has had some changes in that regard. It was a weird way to go not to build that kind of modularity into the system to begin with.
I know hindsight is 20/20 but its obvious now how much time it would have saved them.
customisation, more ways for me to play the game without playing the game (and those new exploration rules and magical storms sound like fun as well) (oh yes and guidelines for puzzles is neat, such an iconic thing we have not seen mechanically represented beyond traps)

Yeah Puzzles was a surprise for me. I am kinda excited for those as a DM as I have a hard time making them myself.
To be honest, that’s the only part of the book I want.
I wonder (if?)/when D&D Beyond codes the book, it's the sort of thing where rather than buying the whole book, you can buy "features" piecemeal the way you can with content. Apples to Filet Mignon (degrees past apples to oranges), but would be an interesting biz strategy to a book where there will be elements subscribers would want and others they don't want at all. Might not be technically implantable, but an interesting possibility.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Most interested in more Druid spells. And seeing what that lineage system thing entails and see if there is anything for Aasimar. I am just a simple girl
So what is everyone most excited for?
The Summon X Spirit spells. Can't wait for my Great Old One warlock to start summoning Star Spawn.
A fool pulls the leaves. A brute chops the trunk. A sage digs the roots.
My Improved Lineage System
The subclasses, magical items, puzzles and magical terrains personally.
"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Characters for Tenebris Sine Fine

Please do not contact or message me.
The subclasses. And the lineage system. But mostly subclasses.
Please check out my homebrew and give me feedback!
Subclasses | Races | Spells | Magic Items | Monsters | Feats | Backgrounds
Spells and Feats are at the top of the list for me, closely followed by sub classes.
She/Her Player and Dungeon Master

They gave you an xp bonus in the class they were key at if they were 14 or higher. Dex and Con both gave bonuses at 15.
