We have pushed updates throughout the week, including a few bigger changes with the latest deploy.
Check out a summary of the changes below. As said before, we are responding to feedback and making changes at a rapid pace, and we will continue to release a digest at least weekly to give you visibility to the high-level changes.
There are plenty of additional updates in progress as we prepare for launch, including the revamps to the Equipment and Spells interfaces, updates to Backgrounds and Personal Characteristics, some builder flow/ accessibility changes, adding a way to see your character's action economy easier, the Unarmed Strike/ Martial Arts rules, and more.
Thanks for helping us test!
Release Notes - July 14, 2017
General
Class and level management in the Character Builder has been updated!
Decreasing your levels in a class is now supported in the builder.
You can also completely remove a class in the builder.
You no longer need to adjust your Character Level followed by Class Levels - adjusting class levels will automatically manage your character level.
For Milestone advancement (default), this simply changes your level. For XP advancement, you will be asked to confirm the new XP values.
Changing your XP value in the Manage XP screen will notify you near your Character Level that you have pending Class Levels to add or remove.
Spells
The Cast information for your prepared spells in the Spells section of the character sheet now scale. For example, if you prepare fireball and scale the spell slot up, you will see the new damage value.
Fixed an issue where some homebrew spells were not available to prepare for characters.
Equipment
Added the alternate two-handed damage values for weapons with the Versatile property.
Boots of Striding and Springing now apply the proper speed value.
Items with bonuses to spell attack rolls (such as Wand of the War Mage) will now grant their bonuses properly.
Classes
Fighter
The Archery Fighting Style now applies its bonus to ranged weapon attacks.
The Defense Fighting Style now applies its bonus to AC while wearing armor.
Paladin
The Defense Fighting Style now applies its bonus to AC while wearing armor.
Ranger
The Archery Fighting Style now applies its bonus to ranged weapon attacks.
The Defense Fighting Style now applies its bonus to AC while wearing armor.
The Dueling Fighting Style now applies its bonus to one handed weapon attacks.
Sorcerer
Fixed an issue where the AC from Draconic Resilience was not applied for multiclass sorcerers.
Warlock
Fixed an issue where the number of base known cantrips was incorrect.
I just wanted to say that I've been very negative and critical of all digital offerings that are even tangentially related to Wizard's because of past history. But you guys continue to inspire me with confidence that this will be one of, if not the, best digital offerings for D&D ever. Well... once it's finished that is :D

Will the basic equipment be easier to find at some point? It just makes no sense why any character under level 10 can start with magic items and weapons it's so hard to find basic armor and non magic weapons

A character under 10 can start with several magic items as I usually have an average of 2-3 magic items by level 10.
Although, I agree. Some sort of filtering for mundane vs magic equipment would be helpful.

The staff team are working on a revised equipment system, after the feedback received on the current solution. :)
Are you guys working on implementing the rest of the Wizard schools?
All of the Wizard schools are implemented in the database, as are all of the subclasses for other classes too, however.... During the beta test of D&D Beyond, we'll only be including content that is freely available from Wizards of the Coast, including the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion and potentially others. The beta will not include additional content from a Commercially Released Book, Module or Supplement.

You say the beta will not, but what about the standard product when finished without subscriptions?
Are we getting close to a launch date? I've not scoured the forums looking for a date, but my guess would be at GenCon50 in mid August.
Looking forward to incorporating into my active campaign and more than willing to throwing a few GPs down on a complete digital toolset.
Good job Curse.
The officially announced date is "this summer" and I don't have anything more specific for you on that. A release event at GenCon would be pretty awesome though!

Great to see improvements in the XP management screen, however I am not seeing any prompt or indication that I need to level up once I change values in the Manage XP screen.
If I take one of the level 5 characters I have built and use the Manage XP screen to deduct 5500 XP the screen tells me that I will have 1000 XP and be level 3. Click OK and the character sheet is unaltered and there is nothing to indicate that I need to go to the builder. When I go to the builder it tells me I am still level 5 with no prompt that I have to manually reduce levels.
It is only when I go to the My Characters page that I see the character is level 3. If clicking Apply on the Manage XP screen does not automatically take you to the Class page of the builder then there needs to be a very visible prompt on the character sheet to remind you. In an earlier post I suggested that the builder icon could change to a level up (or level down) icon that goes to the Class page when clicked.
Items with bonuses to spell attack rolls (such as Wand of the War Mage) will now grant their bonuses properly.
I've mentioned this in a couple of places in this forum but any item that requires attunement does not grant its properties unless attuned. From experimentation this does not appear to be implemented in the builder.
Equipped but did not attune the Dwarven Thrower to a Dwarf Paladin and the +3 bonus was included in the attack and damage modifiers.
Equipped (not attuned) Wand of the War Mage +1 and the +1 adds to the spell attack modifier
Equipped (not attuned) Robes of the Archmagi to same WIzard character, the +2 bonus adds to the attack modifier but not the save DC. Attuning to the robes does not change this.
From experimenting with the homebrew item creation rules the modifiers tables has a column for requires attunement for each modifier but this cannot be set and does not appear to be referenced in the character sheet.
100% with you on this. Everytime I get to that part of creating a character I feel like "Hooo...that will be long". So I go in my PHB instead...which defy the need for the digital version

Magic Items that add to the DC of spell saves still don't seem to be working (such as the robe of the Archmagi.)

The standard product, when launched will, as per WotC direction, only allow free access to the Basic Rules/SRD, so basically what you see now.
The additional subclasses from the PHB, or other books, will require either purchase of the book (or just the class) or subscription.
