What do you think about haveing players roll scores by rolling 4d6, and then re-rolling any 1s or 2s, and dropping the lowest one? Is that a good idea?
The only real answer to ability generation is "do what you want," because everyone has an opinion and they're not going to change.
Personally, I don't like rules that hedge against bad scores when you're rolling for stats. If you want the full rewards, you should accept the full risks. All the dropping and rerolling stuff just gives me the impression that the real goal is to pad stats higher than what point buy would give you. If that's what you really want, you might as well just point buy with more points.
My DM sometimes let's me do a reroll if its really bad so like if I roll a 1 he will let me roll again and if I roll bad again oh well. But he doesn't do it all the time just sometimes and its nice being able to have the save

I think DDB could have the option to increase the amount of points you have in point buy.

Easier to just say "If you roll too low, ask me and I might let you reroll."
Even easier to say “if you don’t like your rolls you can default to the standard array or point-buy.”
