(Oh? We were coming from that side? I thought we were going the other way around to get the golem back. Velmine's golem, not that faker there.)
I guess I misunderstood what you were doing. I thought you were going into the light pillars room and then retrieving your golem, before moving forward.
Your way actually works better, but as I already put a lot of time into the map, we'll keep it the way it is unless anyone objects.
Your way actually works better, but as I already put a lot of time into the map, we'll keep it the way it is unless anyone objects.
(Yeah, I understand the struggle, so don't worry about it. You already do enough as it is. I'd definitely have asked for it if it wasn't a chore, though.)
(That was my intent as well, to go back through the other rooms and then into the light room—I didn’t know even know there were controls on this side! But I am fine with this positioning 👍 no worries either way)
Eiren, who had been expecting some sort of eldritch horror of darkness, pouts a little. His sword is already in his hand, but when he speaks, he sounds disappointed.
“Ah! A clay golem. I suppose that makes sense. With us being in the golem laboratories and all.”
He then looks around. “I thought I was waiting until everyone was in position!! Come through quickly please; I rather dislike my chances fighting this golem alone.”
He then walks forward 20 feet (to J18) and readies a grease spell for the end of the clay golem’s next turn.
Baik moves forward to get a clear unobstructed view of the Clay Golem (H13) and points his spear, two black rays lancing out towards the golem, "In Her name, be smote!"
Baik moves to G13 (by my calculations that is the best you can do, keeping in mind that moving through an occupied square is difficult terrain and we are using an alternate rule for diagonal movement. See spoiler.). He casts (I think?) Eldritch Blast, hitting the golem with both beams of force.
Optional Rule: Diagonals
The Player’s Handbook presents a simple method for counting movement and measuring range on a grid: count every square as 5 feet, even if you’re moving diagonally. Though this is fast in play, it breaks the laws of geometry and is inaccurate over long distances. This optional rule provides more realism, but it requires more effort during combat.
When measuring range or moving diagonally on a grid, the first diagonal square counts as 5 feet, but the second diagonal square counts as 10 feet. This pattern of 5 feet and then 10 feet continues whenever you’re counting diagonally, even if you move horizontally or vertically between different bits of diagonal movement. For example, a character might move one square diagonally (5 feet), then three squares straight (15 feet), and then another square diagonally (10 feet) for a total movement of 30 feet.
The Golem moves M:N-12:13, and takes a haste action.
Eiren reacts quickly, and the spell he'd been holding in the palm of his hands is unleashed. A thick substance of inky blackness spreads across the ground directly under the golem, hopefully causing the creature to slip and fall.
(The area M:N-12:13 is difficult terrain, and the golem has to make a DC 16 Dexterity Saving Throw or fall prone)
Qu'oth will swoop in the harry the golem, helping the next person that makes a rangedattack on the golem (thereby cancelling out the disadvantage from its prone condition, if indeed it fails its DEX save).

I was just making sure you can see M:N-12:13, and I believe that you are in J17 not J18 (J18 is a tiny square, and K18 is too far for you to reach without bladesong). You don't have LoS from J17, but the way the spell reads you may not need it. Thoughts?
Velmine makes haste towards the front of the group, taking to H13 as her spot of choice. There, she draws a dagger. "I think I know how this goes because I already tried it against one of the ones made of iron, but I have to check." She throws it in the direction of the golem.
Attack:29Damage:10 Piercing (Never has sneak attack, and it has disadvantage if the golem falls, so here's the second roll: 20)
"Honestly, I wanted to move a little closer because I'm all about that, but..." She turns her head to the side to yell something to the other side of the portal. "Doggie, can you come here for a moment?" And with that, the mastiff moves to F14, but Velmine's not happy about it. "Now, scatter." Is her second command, which the mastiff understands means just dash south against the wall as far as it can.
(I'm just basically wanting it to free space around the portal for people to leave while not getting it involved in the fight.)
Eiren please read my quotes text about the grease spell. I know Line of Sight isn't really a 5e rule and grease doesn't say something like "An area that you can see" however I feel that you would need to see at least in general where the monster is to be able to cast effectively. J18 isn't a workable square, J17 blocks LoS to most of the room due to the pillar in K16. If you want to only move 15 feet to I16, that will work. Likewise activating Bladesong and moving to K18 will also work, or if you want to move to J17, I'm going to say that you can't cast grease.
I'm going to wait for your response before applying everyone else's turn, so I know if the golem is prone or not.
(Just confirming our discussion from the private message thread, my intent was to move Eiren 20 feet forward, to J13 (not J18). This should allow for the casting of the grease spell and the golem's DEX save)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Baik fires off his eldritch blast at the golem the first bolt misses, but the second bolt hits hard.
Eiren moves in to try the keep the golem on the grease and attempts to attack the golem with his rapier, but misses with both attacks.
Clay Golem's Haste recharge roll 4
The Golem lashes out at Eiren with a bonus action Slam Attack: 27 Damage: 15, followed by two regular Slam Attacks: 20 Damage: 19 and 28 Damage: 31. All three Slams hammer into Eiren.
Eiren make three Con saves DC 15. If you fail any of them you die.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack:+8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or have its hit point maximum reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. The target dies if this attack reduces its hit point maximum to 0. The reduction lasts until removed by the greater restoration spell or other magic.
Edit: I misunderstood how that works, you don't don't die 😀
