I’m not sure if this has been brought up but when a character is in rage I wish that in the app they would add modifiers to the actions. If you haven’t played a Babarian you wouldn’t remember to add +2 to the damage roll.

I personally prefer to create a custom action for that instead of homebrewing an entire item that will clog up my homebrew collection forever. It seems to be a good workaround but maybe I am missing something about it? Cyb3rM1nd would know. What say you?
A new custom action would only really add some description text somewhere, which there is already a bonus action for Rage. If you meant customizing all your STR based weapon attacks, then you would be adding the +2 (or +3, or +4 depending on barbarian level) to each of your weapon attacks when you went into Rage, and remembering to remove those bonuses when your Rage ends. Plus a custom action would not be able to give any visual cues for advantage on Strength based ability checks and saving throws or the damage resistance that are only active while raging.
The best option we have available right now is to make a magic item that does all this. That way you can simply equip the item when you go into a rage and unequip it when your rage ends. The magic item you make could make all the appropriate changes to your character sheet and revert those changes all with a single check box to turn on and off.
Here's a how to on setting up that item in case you're not a video watcher:
Add Class Feature Effect - Rage
[EDIT] There is no way to differentiate between STR and DEX based melee weapon attacks using this method. DEX based barbarians using finesse weapons. Leave off the Damage modifier
Basic Information:
Name: Add Class Feature Effect - Rage
Rarity: Artifact
Base Item Type: Item
Magic Item Type: Wondrous Item
Description:
This item is to replicate the effects of the Barbarian class feature: Rage. Simply equip it when the class feature is activated and unequip it when it ends. Class feature details:
In battle, you fight with primal ferocity. On your turn, you can enter a rage as a bonus action.
While raging, you gain the following benefits if you aren’t wearing heavy armor:
* You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
* When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a bonus to the damage roll that increases as you gain levels as a barbarian, as shown in the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table.
* You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
* If you are able to cast spells, you can’t cast them or concentrate on them while raging.
Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked [condition]unconscious[/condition] or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on your turn as a bonus action.
Once you have raged the number of times shown for your barbarian level in the Rages column of the Barbarian table, you must finish a long rest before you can rage again.
When I make custom actions, they are complete with rolling option, not just text.
But I did not think of the resistance or advantage on strength checks. That is a good callout and good justification for the homebrew item.
I see what you're doing there, you're pretty much duplicating the original weapon and adding the appropriate bonus to it. That is honestly the best way to automate the -5+10 calculations for the Great Weapon Master or Sharpshooter feats. If the other things in rage had no visual cues on the character sheet, your method would probably be the best idea too since the player wouldn't have to jump over to their inventory tab to switch a magic item on or off, which is the primary drawback of using magic items as temporary effects.
Thank you for helping me understand the differences, pros and cons of each, and which options are best suited to which features. I appreciate you, Mairondil.

In addition to the other pros of using a magic item for stuff like Rage, if you start the name of the item with this emoji: 🚫, it’ll automatically shunt those ‘brews to the very end of the list alphabetically so it won’t clog up your list, and will also automatically put those items at the bottom of the list on the character sheets too. If you have multiple instances of such items (like for multiple Magic bows and the SS feat for example), you can even stick them all in a custom container on your sheet and they’ll still function and as long as you never equip that container it’ll ignore the weights of everything too.

I'll take some container, like an alms box and rename it to ⚡ Class & Spell Effects:

they have said that they don't want to do that because it's a timed ability.
The best work around is to create a magic item that grant's the ability and then equip/unequip it when Rage is active
