Can there please be a way to click on the page number cited in the description of a feature? For example, the Eladrin ability to Fey Step at level 3 has different effects depending on the Season. When I click on the page number it says to refer to in MToF (I have the Legendary Bundle, DM Subscription, all content) there is an error page. This was the same on both my mobile and laptop. I had to copy and paste each Season’s ability into the Notes section. It would be nice to be able to click on the page number to go there for a quick reference and then go back to the character sheet... or maybe a pop-up of the more detailed information?
Why can't custom attacks have edited to hit values? You can change it for weapons but not the custom attacks. This really negates the utility of the custom attacks.
Great improvements to the character sheet! My one major gripe is that the sections for Saving Throws, Senses, Proficiencies & Languages, and Skills have their labels at the bottom of the box. Those should be at the top. The Skills section title is "below the fold," even. The sections on the right side where you can flip through various options have them placed correctly at the top.

D&D player and DM since 1981. I learned to play D&D at Band Camp (none nerdier). Favorite RPGs: D&D 5e, The Burning Wheel. Currently running a homebrew-ish Nentir Vale campaign (5e).
Being able to collapse features into name only (by clicking on the feature name) would be nice. So once you get used to what your stuff does, it can fit on one screen.
The [ ] links don't work in the snippet view (which is the only view that the real sheet uses anymore. Like darkvision or poisoned.
It seems kinda weird that we have to enter stuff twice, once for snippet and once for description (and you can never see the description text in the new sheet).

i think the dev team did a really cool job on making the new layout looking cool but in my and my friends experiences, it's clumsy. Now this is just my opinion and don't murder me but i think the old layout with everything on one page was a better idea since you could skim through and find things easily, while on the new UI i have to find my features and actions in different places which takes considerably more time then normal. It might be that i'm just not used to it yet, but that's my experience so far. Then again, i think it does look really awesome and the spells and reminders showing up on the right is a really good concept. I think you should be able to customise what you want to put on your main page from the character sheet menu, since theres characters who use spells but also their weapons in combat- they have to constantly switch between pages. Anyways i know it would be alot of work to bring that to the table, but the D&DB team has been very good at their job and so far im adoring the work they do for the community.
(Before you call me a hater, i'm just expressing my experience and opinions as a player and a user)
Would be great to be able to use font of magic on sorcerers to add more than the max amount of spell slots as this is supported by rules. EX have 5 or 6 first level slots. It may be best if this used a counter for slots made by font of magic, as there is no upper limit of how many there could be, However they only apply to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th lv slots.
The new Character Sharing options don't seem to be very well-considered. Is it intentional that previously existing characters have been defaulted to "public", requiring people to opt-out urgently if they want to hide their character sheet, rather than advertising the option for them to opt-in? Even if the user sets their character to "private" the character name and owning user account are visible to others if anyone in the campaign is public, which I would argue defies user expectation for an option labelled "private".
This also exposes the campaign description to the public without DM consent or ability to modify. Previously to this, I don't expect there's been any reason not to include copyright protected material in this section, however this new choice exposes that material to the masses.
Yes, in fact, that resolution is really rare. I'll give a small sneak peak into our analytics to show that I'm not just saying these things:
Keep in mind that is for the whole site (easier for me to pull quickly), but that specifically for the character sheet the percentage is even lower.
As for your points about Sorcery Points, displaying AC, etc. more prominently, and changing browser size on your screen, this is great feedback and we will consider everything you're saying. Sorcery Points, Ki, and other similar class resources will be part of a full-blown system before too long, and I think it will address many of your concerns.
Appreciate your thoughts - thanks!
That's good to know! In my line of work, that resolution isn't as rare as that, though it's still one of the smaller % of users.
As for the information on the Sorcery Points and such that is good news, I look forward to that update. With AC, to be honest, it's just adding it instead of the movement speed or next to it.
One point that I did edit later in so I'm not sure if you saw was the charge system on items like the Staff of Power or Wand of Fireballs. Those spells appear in the Spell list section (as blue text so they look more important than your normal spells to boot) and also in the respective upcasted levels. If you use the charge from there it opens up a side pane that displays the info of the spell but not the charge info of the item as well. To see the total charges you need to go and find the item in the "Item" list. Flow of action for these types of things end up like so:
Open Spell list
Select spell
Cast spell - it shows the charges used as well as total charges in a really small number, but that is not intuitive and I had to guess the small number on top of the button meant total charges
Click on the "Item"
Scroll to find the magic item
See it's description and charges left
It's slightly awkward and it would be lovely to have a better display of total charges. Something like adding just under the name of the item where the spell comes from (such as Wand of Fireballs) the amount of charges it has left (those boxes). If possible, on the item itself it would be great to have a reset charges on the bottom next to the Use/Stow/Attune buttons.
Also a bug - the items use your spell DC not that of the item. In the case of the Wand of Fireballs the item has a set DC of 15, but currently it uses the casters DC as it's referencing the spell of Fireball, not the custom spell of Fireball that the item has.

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
Been signed up since the early days and have mostly used Beyond for online reference for my core books, as I use far too much tweaked, custom and non-core content to make using the character sheets viable. Even once homebrew was added, I never really liked the systems that were in place and to be honest, I found the DDB character sheet nearly unusable. All of the nested collapsing boxes for details other than ability scores, skills and attacks was just clunky and ugly and I wasn't a fan.
I only just started using the character creator a couple of weeks ago to make backup copies of my group's characters (which were all done old school with pen and paper because I'm a weird purist that way) to have when I'm not around them because we don't get to play often and I like having duplicate records.
Then the new character sheet rolled out.
Now, for the first time, I'm actually debating using digital character sheets at the table and doing away with pen and paper. I like the one-screen desktop view. I also like the one screen per section mobile view too, and honestly think it will help my players (who are pretty new) to be able to find what they need on the sheets easier because as it is there's a lot of "uhhh, what am I rolling? What do I add that to? What can I do on my turn?" and with this, it's easy to say "it's on the Combat tab" or "Actions you can do are on the action tab - that tab will also tell you if you have any abilities you can use on bonus actions too."
It's weird. I've always been the grognard who felt that pen and paper was the only way to go and digital sheets would never be for me. Now? I'm really ready to embrace digital (outside of Roll20, where I don't have much choice) for the first time because I love the way the new sheet looks and is laid out. I'm sorry that so many vocal folks on this thread seem to hate it, but I just want to throw my two copper in to say that I like the new design SOOOO much more and I can't wait to see what else the team is gonna roll out!
(That being said, I'm sure there are a ton of bugs to work through which I haven't seen in action yet - I've seen plenty of folks reporting that so far and I DO have to wonder why Exhaustion is just a condition that can be toggled on or off, rather than have levels like it does - but for now, I'm just giving first impressions based on playing around with the sheet on desktop and mobile both.)
I'd like to reiterate a point that I know has been made in this thread at least once before but which I think bears repeating —by as many people as possible— so that it's known to be a significant issue.
The issue is conditions, namely their effects being applied to the character and also the descriptions of those effects.
Conditions crop up in play a lot so they're constantly something I and players have to refer to and often forget about after the fact. It would be so amazing if the effects of conditions could actually be applied to the character, like poisoned disadvantaging attacks and ability checks.
And have a reference slide. Clicking on the conditions title could take you to the toggle, but once there's a condition listed in the field, we should be able to click on the condition to get a description of its effects.

That’s a strangely adversarial tone/delivery. It’s fine for you to not care if your character and campaign are visible to others but some players prefer to keep their sheets hidden from each other (and anonymous public users) which this choice makes needlessly more difficult.

Because it's a mountain out of a molehill? Also, the character sheet is hidden, even from people in the same campaign.

I can't even find where my list of non-prepared spells is. Ritual or not. Still looking, but any help would be appreciated.
Click the cog under the spells section.
Thank you, I just found it. Darn thing is nearly invisible.

Spell damage on the pdf would be really helpful.
I'd love an option to only print prepared spells for druid the clerics.
I'm having trouble with adding equipment to my character. Where are you hiding the add items button?
Never mind, I found it under the Edit Character options.
That's kinda annoying, but at least it's there.
In the Equipment section, there's a gear icon. Click that a d you can add equipment from the sidebar.
