Does anyone know what features of Monsters of the Multiverse will not be working at release? I don't want to preorder and then find out it's another Tasha's. I still feel al little burned about that. I play in a campaign with a no character homebrew rule. So building a custom homebrew to make the Clockwork Soul, for instance, work, was not an option... for how long now?.

I feel like I have to ask. Are you sure the DM didn't mean "Don't make up any homebrew?" Because I understand the DM not wanting unofficial sources, but not allowing you to homebrew in something that is official but that DnDB doesn't support yet doesn't make much sense to me.
Perhaps the DM can only see if it's technically official or not, and so has said only technically official stuff is allowed, and really doesn't want arguments? Especially if they don't have the content themselves to compare. That would be a bit off for me, but I could see some doing it.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
If you don't own it, and the DM isn't sharing the material, it might not show up on the editor. Otherwise there have been features not supported since Ravenloft, since you can't alter existing races with new Lineage to mix features.
I imagine the new race options will simply work as variants when the book is official. Who knows though. It's gonna be a can of worms.

I agree that they should have fixed it by now, but CS is hardly unplayable. If you want to switch out a spell - which is already a corner case - just change the name of the spell on your sheet and look up the text when you need it.
Now if you want to complain about all the stuff in Theros that still isn't in there, that's a different story.
when doing a tooltip thing like this with the Hobgoblin Devastator the system is gonna go on the fritz and not know which version you're talking about and people who want to talk about the real version (VGM) will just get the shitty MMM version (🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮). They 100% ain't gonna add some way to differentiate.
Based on what I've seen, they'll be concatenating "(Legacy)" to the names of non-MMM monsters, so they will be differentiable.
How’s that gonna work for all the tooltips that people have used for the last 5 years that don’t have “(legacy)” in them because that wasn’t a thing for the past 5 years? If I type the acolyte tooltip now, which version is it gonna point to in a month from now? That’s what I am interested to find out.

It's just Races and Monsters. I don't see where any of it would be non-working due to lack of DDB capabilities.
