Right, so imagine Fizbans Treasury of dragons, only giants. Would you get it and what would you want from it. I'd want more power giants archetypes, like a storm giant king and even new stats for the more obscure giants like fog, desert, mountain and reef giants.
I was pretty satisfied with Volo's Guide to Monsters for this. Giants are cool, but you really can't have that many of them in a campaign because they're pretty tough. They also interact just fine with existing monsters through several generations of lore, so it's not like you need to invent new minions for em.
If you're after more giants Volo's Guide to Monsters (Unfortunately discontinued) has a large amount of pages dedicated to giant lore as well as 6 new statblocks for different variants of the 6 most common types.
Storm King's Thunder is just FULL of giants, providing you a battlemap's of various giant strongholds, giant based magic items, variant rules for giants that let you throw creatures around and statblocks for various giant leaders.
Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio also has a statblock for a Fog Giant in it.
Giants have gotten quite a lot towards them already so I don't think there's a real appetite for another book involving giants.
Whether or not we want one, I think one is coming based on the most recent UA. It may not be explicitly all about giants, but they’re gonna be a hugebig part of it.
Sure, I would consider buying one. I like the Giant Options UA well enough and I use giants in a lot of my campaigns. I even have a few known giant strongholds, settlements and cities in my campaign world as well as several Giant NPCs that most of my players are aware of. They are generally more common than Dragons and we got a book for those, so why not? I wouldn't mind a few other books that build on themes like that, but I know it isn't for everyone.
Just depends on if it's good or not. I'm not super in to giants, but I could be if the book had cool stuff in it.
I dunno, it's like Marvel movies. I didn't watch Shang-chi because I wanted to see another superhero movie. I watched it because of the kick-ass fighting choreography team and I liked some of the cast. I watched Moon Knight because it turned out to be a compelling depiction of DID and Oscar Issac is a great actor. The current MCU lineup is mostly like C-tier heroes that have outperformed DC's A-tier heroes because they made movies that are just fun to watch.
Just make a good product. It doesn't need to ride on the fame of previous edition lore if it's quality material. Make something that future editions will have to include due to it being so beloved and iconic. Change our minds about giants being boring. Push the brand forward.
If they took a “Shadow of the Colossus” type approach to it, even more so: giants, or ancient colossal beings, that have become literally embedded in the landscape, forgotten to the passages of time.
Or, better yet: a super-colossus…one that even dwarfs the giants themselves…that serves as a mega dungeon that the players must navigate, to prevent it’s wanton destruction of the realm.
Or, something included along those lines. Something sweeping & epic.
If they’d want to add even more rune magic, similar to what was provided in the last UA, I would certainly be on board.
I actually do want a giant book, because the concept of the Ordning is fascinating, and I want more details.
...also I love the giant subclasses in the UA, so I kinda really wanna play them. A lot.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
If they do Giants, maybe we would get a book for Aberrations, Undead, Oozes and all the other types as well. Each with themed Subclasses, Feats and other character options.

I would not mind a book on giants. More books on monsters would be fun. Can we have books on magic items and vehicles too? That would be awesome.
And I want BEEFY books. I got the physical Tyranny of Dragons about a year ago since it was on sale, and I was surprised how thin it was since it was supposed to be two adventures. Personally, I want the average D&D book in general to be thicker, ideally around the combined size of the PHB, DMG, and MM, or about the size of a college textbook. I would not mind paying more either.

So long as the they use the extra space to maintain quality so the extra stuff is improving 9verall quality, I agree. Sometimes the pickings are a little lean, but I just don't want them padding it out with crap just so they can say that they've hit their page count. Although I think you go too far - the cost per page of such a book woukd be a beast, and from what ai heard they had issues binding the PHB at the beginning. I think 500 pages would be a better rough target.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I think I'm in the minority in that I love giants and runes and primordials and all that enormous norse themed goodness(I think primordials and giants are related in some), but have just never really gotten the chance to dig into their lore. The only thing I really know is that giants + dragons = monster battle fight.
So for me I'd love to go beyond just a giant sourcebook and get a whole buttox giant based setting, with all new lore for me to sink my teeth into. I think we still have one new setting due for this edition, do not quote me on that though.
If they do Giants, maybe we would get a book for Aberrations, Undead, Oozes and all the other types as well. Each with themed Subclasses, Feats and other character options.
Saints in heaven preserve us.
Well, we have creature type themed subclasses already. Aberrations have Great Old One, Aberrant Mind. Beasts have Beast Master, Circle of the Moon and Path of the Beast. Celestials have Zealot and Divine Soul. Constructs have Battle Smith and Clockwork Soul. Dragons got Draconic Bloodline, Ascendant Dragon and Drakewarden. etc etc
So not exactly a stretch to think that others could be made and be a bit more directly associated with the theme.

Giants tend to be rather boring as monsters go. They'd need to have something beyond just giants to make the book worth it.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

I wouldn’t be surprised but I would rather have a novel that finishes off the Ordrung story and moves on.

I would be very open to the concept, personally.

I’m hoping it signals an update of the Against the Giants module series, as part of a greyhawk setting book.
