Is there a way of creating custom backgrounds coming in the future? With custom proficiences and characteristics (flaws, ideals, bonds, personality traits).
For now we have: Acolyte, Criminal / Spy, Folk Hero, Noble, Sage and Soldier.

This is something that they are working on. The other backgrounds will be available for purchase of release. Please see my signature for information that is available during the beta.
I've been out of the loop (vacation!) and am trying to get caught up with the changes, etc. My apologies if these have been previously addressed.
1) I created a 1st level Monk. He has a 17 Constitution (+3) and the character sheet is showing 15 Hit Points. Shouldn't that be 11 HP (d8 + 3)?
2) I selected Sage as my background. Neither Arcana nor History are showing up as proficiencies online or on the character sheet (PHB p137).
3) The quarterstaff, a versatile weapon, only shows the one-handed damage option. No armor or shield to take advantage of Unarmored Defense? I want to see the 1d8 dmg option included on the printed sheet as well since this will certainly be the most likely method of use.
4) I would like to see unarmed strike listed as a weapon as well, especially as a monk. I realize it is listed as Martial Arts in the Features & Traits, but it is a weapon and I like my reference sheet to include my options, possibly to include the better of my STR or DEX adjustment for attack and damage in the case of a Monk?
While I haven't spent a lot of time utilizing the available tools, I like what I have seen.
I created a PDF version of a paladin's character sheet. The spells section only shows spells that are prepared. A paladin like a cleric knows all of the spells that are available at his/her level.

1) I'm not sure on this issue off the top of my head. I know I have seen others mention similar things earlier in this thread though.
2) After selecting the background, you need to manually select the two proficiencies. For Sage, it lists Arcana and History as the Suggested Skill Proficiencies but doesn't force one to take them.
3) The versatile damage should be shown on the character sheet on DDB. For the exported sheet, if you save it, it's a form-fillable PDF; so you can edit it to include both damage die options or just the two-handed option if you feel that's how you will always use it.
4) On the first page of the editor, at the bottom, there's a switch to Show Unarmed Strike in the Attacks section of the character sheet.
Created a homebrew magic item using the Staff of Power as template. I changed it so that the +2 applies to Spell Save DC and Spell Attack bonus, not to saving throws. I then equipped this to a character.
The correct bonus and spell save DC appear on the digital character sheet (+11 and 19, respectively), but the unmodified values (+9 and 17) appear on the PDF version.
I tried refreshing and re-exporting; sometimes, one or the other will show the correct value, but the other is still wrong.
I know I can change it manually but less experienced players will not realise there's a mistake.
Also, it would be very helpful if selecting the "Display Unarmed Strike" button at the start also caused it to be shown on the PDF version. Monks really need this.
Similarly, versatile weapons need to show the normal and two-handed values.
The character sheet is looking good, i have a few points that may help make it better. For the character sheet, as other have pointed out there are things in the list of features and traits that don't need to be there, such a s hit points proficiencies, spell casting, and it would be good to have a very brief description of the feature or trait. Do proficiencies need to be listed under other proficiencies as they have their own box, as with the traits magical equipment could do with a small descriptor. Final point I don’t think potent cantrip is being added to the damage on the attack section
Question: Is there a way to add a Feat or Proficiency to a character outside of leveling up? I'm specifically interested in the "Professional Training" option from the DMG, where you might reward PCs by granting Feats or other things as a reward rather than treasures. Other A la carte stuff would be cool, but particularly interested in these two that might be more common.
Notes on what I found: Looks like #2 and #4 are both changes implemented since the last time I looked (or I was blind a month ago when I went through the process - quite possible). In my defense, though Unarmed Strike was already turned on to show and wasn't until I switched it off and back on again (IT Crowd, anyone?). #1 simply needs to be fixed as far as I can tell. #3 should, in my opinion, default to showing versatile damage as well on the printed character sheet. Or at least give me the option instead of manually updating the PDF each time I export.
I agree with some of the other comments I'm seeing about some items being "wasted space" on these sheets. My proficiency list for Monk: "Hit Points" and "Proficiencies"? As in I get them? Do I need all of my Proficiencies listed in "Other Proficiencies and Languages" if they are also marked in the Saving Throws and Skills listing? Change that box to just "Languages" and let the stat block handle the rest.
Again - I do like what I'm seeing overall as far as the character sheet goes, it would be nice to have a single place to decide whether or not to list unarmed strike, versatile damage, proficiencies (in the box with languages), etc.
Is there a way to send a character to a player? I'm planning on running a game at Gen Con with some friends, and I wanted to make some pre-generated characters to hand out.
If you're going to hand them out, you could probably print them. Other than that, sharing or assigning characters to people in your campaign is not in (yet). They could join a campaign with the skeletal character (no options chosen) and you can modify that character for them.

One thing that would be nice to see is the ability to filter races in the character builder by ability scores.

Still no random name generator?
I'm surprised and disappointed. Can't you make a deal with one of the websites and link to their results, at the very least?

I see that now. It's not included in the Quick build or the random builder. Odd.

Hiya,
Is there going to be a possibility to add new languages/skills learned and maybe a crafting tracker?

Thanks, DrossPedantic. Very helpful!

I'm assuming, since I don't see it, that the dragonchess set is not part of the SRD or Basic Rules?
