That has nothing to do with snippets. Snippets don’t actually “do” anything, they just display information. To actually get the system to apply those bonuses you need to add Modifiers to your racial trait:
I have an ability that I am trying to write-up as a feat(players are Chosen of various gods, blah, blah, blah) and I need help with a snippet. This is the full description of the ability:
Fate Dice. You have a number of fate dice equal to your proficiency bonus, which are d6s. At 6th level, your fate dice turn into d8s, at 11th level they turn into d10s, and at 16th level they turn into d12s. A fate die is expended when you use it. You regain all of your expended fate dice when you finish a long rest.
Once per turn, when a creature you can see makes an attack, saving throw, or ability check, you can use your reaction to roll one of your fate dice and either add or subtract the number rolled from the total after finding out whether the check failed or succeeded.
Is there any reason you’re not using the traditional 5th, 11th, & 17h levels for your dice to increase? Because I could help you if you were. (I’m not the best at snippets, but I have that one.)
So, they gain new Chosen abilities at 1, 6, 11, and 16 and I was trying to keep the increases coinciding with that but I'm not against changing it to the more traditional growth.

If you want to test it as a custom action on a character sheet, swap classlevel for characterlevel, or type in the level you want to test (easier than levelling up each time). Just put that wherever you want the dice to appear in a snippet box.
We really need like a snippet builder tool or something to handle scaling cases like these because while the math is simple, it's weirdly tricky to get into snippet form.

5*modifier:cha+classlevel - No class level data available
{{classlevel}} only works in a homebrew subclass. It does not work in any other form of homebrew and I don't believe it even works if you enter it manually in a customized action.
When creating a subclass ability, I want it to use my spellcasting DC. However, the only code I can find is one that looks at your proficiency bonus and spellcasting modifier, then calculates what that should be without any bonuses. However, if I have an item that increases my spell to-hit chance and DC, such as Bloodwell Vial or Amulet of the Devout, it does not change the value given. Is there a code I can use that takes into account such magic items, or do we just have to adjust for it manually when we are playing the game?
If you want to do that in the homebrew creator create a quarterstaff weapon, give it a modifier, select bonus, and then select Magic Item Atack With (insert which ever spellcasting ability modifier you wish to use here).

That will affect every magic weapon you equip to that character.
I'm having a hard time with it applying the ability increases to my character sheet when I apply the race to my character.

Hello, I would like to give to snippet AC. Which increase with level (unarmored 11+Dex ... 12+dex ....). How can I do that?
Thanks
That depends. Subclass or race? At what levels are the bumps?

Hi.
thanks for reply.
Subclass and 1 , 6 , 14 , 18 .
You’re going to need something called “level switches.” Mairondil has a great tutorial here (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/158191-snippet-math-theory).

I think this does what you want:

My problem is likely a very easy one. I have an ability where, when used, the player will take their character level + spell hit modifier in damage.
I don't know what code to use to display that. I tried {{(characterlevel)+(spellattack)}} but that didn't seem to work.
You need to designate the spellattack ability. For example, let’s assume the Spellcasting ability is Charisma, you would use the following:
{{characterlevel+spellattack:cha}}

No, there’s no way to do that unfortunately.
