My players are now in possession of Trollskull Manor from Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. They will likely run it as a tavern or inn and rename the property to suit their needs. My question; how do you add a business, tavern, garrison, stronghold, etc. to a character's sheet?
There is not an easy way to manage business and buildings on the character sheet. If your table is interested in running a business though, I highly recommend watching some basic accounting videos on YouTube (here are threeshortones). I do not recommend trying to simulate a real business since accounting can get really boring down in the details, so I recommend keepings things simple and short. Doing a limited amount of simple math should be enough for immersion, and most people generally get their endorphins from watching platinum rain into their Bags of Holding rather than pushing massive spreadsheets.
... but players shouldn't have platinum raining into their purse for next to no work, it seems to me. The game is made for the party to have fun adventuring. If a player or two want to run a business, I'd slog through the minutia between sessions.
I am running a business on the side in my campaign. I do all the accounting offline. I buy food for the workers when they have to travel away from home. I buy food and stable time for the animals. I track how much it costs to obtain the items we buy and how much we receive for the goods we sell. I add it all up and return to my investor 10% of all the money I make, and then I collect 10% of the same money as my own payment. The rest is spent to build the company. I do all this offline because nobody in the party wants to know anything about it. I even hire members of the party, that wish to be involved, as security guards and I pay for their meals and provide a horse for them from the company while they are 'on the job.'
But I'm going to guess I am an outlier in the D&D player spectrum.

We generally use a shared Google doc to handle this kind of thing.
has anyone actually read the post they simply asked how to add it to a ddb character sheet
Ok, I will explain my position a bit further.
A character sheet is a bad place for this kind of information and DDB has no features that support it, so don't do that.
A shared document keeps all the info visible and editable in one place, which is extremely handy for a single resource that is jointly owned. This is a superior option in every way that is available to anyone. If you find Google distasteful for a variety of justifiable reasons, there are plenty of other file sharing options out there.
In other words, I'm actually trying to solve OP's problem. At the very worst, I've been no less helpful than your two posts have been.

It depends on if they actually want to do anything with it. It could simply become a headquarters, or even if it becomes an inn the DM might occasionally roll to determine last month's income (or loss) and leave it at that. It's essentially a possession that doesn't fit under equipment, nothing more necessarily.

Both of the following menthols work from either the website version of character sheets, as well as in the app through its built in browser:
A hyperlink to the shared Google Doc can be embedded into any homebrew which can then be added to everybody’s character sheets. In this instance I would recommend an item, feat, or monster depending on the players’ preference as to which section of the sheet they prefer for it to be displayed, Equipment, Features & Traits, or Extras respectively.
The same link can also be added to the “Description” section of the Campaign by the DM. That section is accessible from any sheet through the campaign button right at the top of the very front page of every character sheet.

The same google doc could be used in accounting for anything that doesn’t fit neatly within the DDB sheet’s functionality.
