Welcome to my collection of homebrew content, I use this forum thread to show of all content that I have publicly shared in one consolidated space. I try to keep everything up to date and easy to read, but if there's something you think that could help, don't be afraid to suggest something. When it comes to suggestions and comments about individual homebrews, please leave those on their respective pages. If you find something you like, don't forget to up vote that particular homebrew, even if you don't plan on using it, it really helps with separating the good homebrews from the bad. Also, if you find something you don't like or think is unbalanced, lets talk about it. With that said I hope you enjoy what I have to share.
For those who are interested, I have been making stuff on the DM's Guild. If you'd like to support me there too, then please check out this link.
As an archetypal Inquisitive, you excel at rooting out secrets and unraveling mysteries. You rely on your sharp eye for detail, but also on your finely honed ability to read the words and deeds of other creatures to determine their true intent. You excel at defeating creatures that hide among and prey upon ordinary folk, and your mastery of lore and your keen deductions make you well equipped to expose and end hidden evils.
Investigator's Skillset
3rd-level Inquisitive feature
You gain proficiency in one of the following skills; Insight, Investigation, Perception, or Persuasion. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make with the chosen skill. You also gain proficiency in one gaming set and learn two languages of your choice.
In addition, you can use a bonus action to make a Wisdom (Perception) check to spot a hidden creature or object or to make an Intelligence (Investigation) check to uncover or decipher clues.
Insightful Fighting
3rd-level Inquisitive feature
You gain the ability to decipher an opponent’s tactics and develop a counter to them. As a bonus action, you can make a Wisdom (Insight) check against a creature you can see that isn’t incapacitated, contested by the target’s Charisma (Deception) check. If you succeed, you can use your Sneak Attack against that target even if you don’t have advantage on the attack roll, but not if you have disadvantage on it.
This benefit lasts for 1 minute or until you successfully use this feature against a different target.
Unerring Senses
9th-level Inquisitive feature
Your senses are almost impossible to foil. You sense the presence of illusions, shapechangers not in their original form, and other magic designed to deceive the senses within 30 feet of you, provided you aren’t blinded or deafened. You sense that an effect is attempting to trick you, but you gain no insight into what is hidden or into its true nature.
You also have advantage on any Wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) check if you move no more than half your speed on the same turn.
Intuitive Movements
13th-level Inquisitive feature
You've learned to easily read and predict your adversaries attacks making them easier to dodge. While a creature is under the effects of your Insightful Fighting feature, it has disadvantage on attacks rolls against you, provided you aren’t blinded or deafened. If the creature hits you with an attack, you don't benefit from this feature again until the start of your next turn.
Eye for Weakness
17th-level Inquisitive feature
You can exploit a creature’s weakness by carefully studying its movements and tactics. When a creature under the effects of your Insightful Fighting feature makes an attack against you, before the creature makes an attack roll you can use your reaction to make a weapon attack against it.
Additionally, you can tell when a creature is trying to deceive you even when aided by the use of magic or other magical effect by succeeding on a Wisdom (Insight) check contested by the creature's Charisma (Deception) check.
Your power draws from the immortal flame that fuels the legendary phoenix. You or your ancestors perhaps rendered a phoenix a great service, or you were born in its presence. Whatever the cause, a shard of the phoenix’s power dwells within you.
That power is a mixed blessing. Like the mythical creature, you can invoke fiery energy and gain the ability to cheat death itself. This power comes at a cost. The fire within you seethes, demanding to be unleashed. You sometimes find yourself absentmindedly feeding fires. You can’t bear to allow a fire to sputter out. You feel most comfortable while holding a lit torch or sitting in front of a campfire.
More importantly, this gift comes with no special protection from fire. You are as vulnerable as any other creature to fiery magic, including your own. Phoenix sorcerers can use their powers to pull themselves back from the brink of death, and all too often their own, rash nature or reliance on destructive magic is what puts them there in the first place.
Such sorcerers are wanderers by necessity. The volatile nature of their magic makes other folk nervous. If a fire breaks out in town, a phoenix sorcerer had best flee, whether guilty or not. Fire is a dangerous force, and phoenix sorcerers have a reputation (deserved or not) for reckless behavior, confident that the essence of the phoenix can save them.
Phoenix Magic
1st-level Phoenix Soul feature
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Phoenix Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an evocation or a conjuration spell from the cleric, druid, or sorcerer spell list.
You can unleash the phoenix fire that blazes within you. As a bonus action, you magically wreathe yourself in swirling fire, as your eyes glow like hot coals. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:
You shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet.
When you are hit by an attack within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to deal fire damage to the attacking creature equal to 1d10 + half your sorcerer level.
Whenever you roll fire damage on your turn, the roll gains a bonus to equal to your Charisma modifier.
You gain resistance against cold and fire damage.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Phoenix Spark
6th-level Phoenix Soul feature
The fiery energy within you grows restless and vengeful. In the face of defeat, it surges outward to preserve you in a fiery roar.
If you are reduced to 0 hit points you draw on the spark of the phoenix to be reduced to 1 hit point instead, and each creature within 10 feet of you takes fire damage equal to half your sorcerer level + your Charisma modifier. If you use this feature while under the effects of your Mantle of Flame, this feature instead deals fire damage equal to your sorcerer level + twice your Charisma modifier, and your Mantle of Flame immediately ends.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Nourishing Flames
14th-level Phoenix Soul feature
Your fire spells soothe and restore you. When you expend a spell slot to cast a spell that deals fire damage or restores hit points, you regain hit points equal to the slot’s level + your Charisma modifier.
Form of the Phoenix
18th-level Phoenix Soul feature
You finally master the spark of fire that dances within you. While under the effect of your Mantle of Flame feature, you gain additional benefits:
You have a flying speed of 60 feet and can hover.
You Immune to fire damage and have resistance to all other damage types.
Any creature of your choice takes fire damage equal to 5 + your Charisma modifier if it hits you with a melee attack from within 5 feet of you or if it touches you.
If you use your Phoenix Spark, that feature deals an extra 20 fire damage to each creature and you gain temporary hit points equal to your sorcerer level.
These collections are bundles of homebrew content, of both my own make and other creators, that I thought worked together as part of a collection. I hope you enjoy these, and if you have any suggestions on either homebrew to add or additional collections that I can work on, just let me know.
Fizzlewix Collection - A collection of spells and magic items that were made by my character Fizzlewix. His main niche of spells focuses on chromatic spells, and clockworks/tinkering. Some of which may hold an unreliable damage type mechanic which I found as a fun flavor for casting. Each of these should make a good an fun additional to your wizard and artificer, or even a wild magic sorcerer.
Apprenticeships - Everyone enjoys a good apprenticeship background to start off an adventurer's journey. This collection a bundle of apprenticeships character backgrounds.
*This is not one of my homebrews, but I see little reason to make my own version at this time.
Eldritch Blast Alternatives - This collection is a variety of warlock cantrips that are just as potent as eldritch blast, but with the flavor that your patron. Please note that I have not found a way to have these cantrip get the eldrtich blast invocations to work properly. When I do, I will update each of the cantrips to apply the correct modifiers.
*At the moment I do not know how to make it so that these spells automatically apply the eldritch evocation bonus, if I'm even able to do so. If you do know how to, please let me know.
Racial Feats - Simple enough, a collection of different racial feats.
Wizard Arcane Tradition Combinations - This is a collection of wizard Arcane Traditions that can be seen as combinations of at least two different schools of magic.
Homebrew Arcane Tradition Combinations:
Arcane Knight (Abjuration-Martial) - A full Arcane Caster with martial abilities
Excellent stuff. Keep at it! I love the Swolbold. Have you considered a Swoliath, Swolbolg, Swolblin, or Loxswoldon? Gainasi?
Honestly, that one was mainly made as my attempt in making the creature codex's swolbold into a player race via request from someone in my group for our kobold mini campaign. So I haven't really thought about doing other swol variant's.
